The Young Professional’s Committee is excited to announce the second year of the Mentorship Program in the APWA-NC Chapter!
This mentorship program will kick-off in January 2025 between members that are considered Young Professionals (under the age of 40 years old) and other APWA-NC members. The YP Committee is starting this fall to create pairings that will be announced December 2024.
The intent of this program is for the Mentee to have an opportunity to develop a relationship with a Mentor in this industry so that the Mentee can ask questions and discover more about the industry, career advancement, and themselves. For Mentors, this is a chance to guide and support individuals as they grow into the future leaders of this industry. The program would consist of paired Mentors & Mentees meeting once a month for about an hour to discuss the different topics provided. However, the topics are just a guide and please utilize your time together how you see fit!
The suggested topics include: All Things APWA, Education and Training, Transitions in Your Career, Work-Life Balance, Process Improvements, Managing, and more!
If you are interested in being a mentee or mentor for this program and are looking to network, build relationships and gain experience from others in the public works industry, please complete either form by Friday, November 8th.

Mentors will be selected based upon the number of mentees this program receives, their interests and goals of the program, and the various locations/experience levels. Our goal is to provide pairings between mentors and mentees that help the participants of this program to meet their goals and develop lasting relationships throughout our APWA-NC community.
